"Although this was billed as a renovated hotel with new furnishings, it has either been a long while or the renovations were not very extensive. The hotel was dirty, carpets worn, sleeping pillows were cheap and incomfortable. Check-out was at 11 AM, I was going to have lunch at the hotel, but they would not extend my room, so I checked out and had lunch across the street. Dinner the night before was great, I sat at the bar and service was friendly and prompt."

The oceanfront Beach House Hotel is a boutique hotel located north of Miami Beach in Surfside, on 200 feet of private beach, and approximately 20 miles from Miami International Airport. The Beach House was inspired by the great beach homes of Nantucket, coastal Maine, and the Hamptons. Located on Collins Avenue, the hotel is less than two blocks south of Bal Harbour's high-end shopping. Guests can stroll along Surfside's thoroughfare for additional shopping and dining options. This location also offers easy access to the South Beach scene and Lincoln Road.

Hotel amenities include a heated outdoor swimming pool, poolside patio, poolside bar, fitness center, and the Atlantic Restaurant's views of the beach and pool area. Only a limited number of hotel locations in south Florida can honestly claim to be on the ocean with a private beach.
